Finish them up and move them out! Finishing Long Lost Projects

I don’t know what the technical term is for the (WIP) stash that have enjoyed multiple anniversaries (read that as “months or years”), but mine are seeing some movement in my house and then out of my house. I have been working to finish up some projects that have been stagnant for a while. After talking to some of my favorite people and looking around some of my favorite websites, I have a feeling that now that everyone is spending so much more time at home, I am not alone.

My sister and I call them; “Get it done and out of my house” projects. This stems for our childhood memories and our shared love of being list makers—check that off the list! Kimberly has finished (and mailed out) three baby quilts (and started one) for what are now toddler nieces and nephews during her “stay at home” time. She also pulled a quilt wall hanging kit out of her stash and converted it into placemats that will have purpose in her house. So somethings don’t leave the house… Anyway, go, Kimberly!

On FaceBook, I’m seeing individuals in crafting groups that have 20 year old (let that soak in) WIP that they finally finished. While I don’t have any projects that old, I feel their pain. Brittany’s quilt isn’t finished but I’ve sewn a few more rows. If you need a cheerleader, I am there for you! One step at a time. Or one row at a time. All in the name of progress.

I did get one of my cross stitch WIP completed and have moved on to another. “Finally Friday!” may not be old, but it is now on the list of completed projects! My “Rub a Dub Penguins” is enjoying steady progress. As I pointed out in my last blog, the penguins may have some mistakes and in the past, this might have stopped me in my tracks. Not anymore. I have learned that no one but me sees the mistakes. Altering a pattern is just fine. A “Strive for Progress, Not Perfection” plaque hangs on my board to keep me grounded and moving forward.

And, now with the latest news on BloomingDaisiesCrafts! To make the website more user friendly, the 400+ NeedleMinders are being categorized into different drop downs. The categories will include Childhood Favorites, Holiday, and Snarky just to name a few. The launch is imminent! Now, I just have to finish going through the last of them for product placement. Some NeedleMinders may be under multiple categories but if you observe one and feel it needs to be placed elsewhere, contact me. Mistakes happen!

Also, I have embraced eBay for selling BloomingDaisiesCrafts products. And, EBay has embraced the product right back. At this time, all products are featured on the website, while selection is limited on Ebay (but more is frequently being added). Between Ebay and the website, sales have stepped up with this “staying home”. Blooming Daisies Crafts has an awesome customer base and, if you are one, thank you!

Tomorrow, July 25, starts BloomingDaisiesCrafts Christmas in July sale! The sale will only include Christmas product but with only five more months until the big day, it’s time to pull out holiday projects and get them DONE! Or progressed! The new fabric choices are striking and will put you in the holiday spirit. Make sure to cover up those cross stitch gifts with Dust Covers that will add beauty to your décor. BloomingDaisiesCrafts hopes that your cross stitch gives you satisfaction and our accessories add that extra measure of pleasure!
