I am giving credit to Kelly Clarkson here. On the “Kelly Clarkson Show”, she shares random social media posts from Instagram and calls the segment, “What I’m Liking.” I really like the concept. So here, I am sharing “What I’m Liking” about building BloomingDaisiesCrafts.
“I’m liking” that I am utilizing my love of sewing to make fun and pretty things for my customers. I am not a cross stitch expert but I make some fine accessories for peoples’ projects.
“I’m liking” that BloomingDaisiesCrafts has only added to my relationship with my sister. We have always kept in touch but this business gives each of us one platform to do things that we enjoy—different activities on the same business! Sometime I may show you what this blog looks like when I send it to her versus what I get back. You will just have to believe me when I say that it is not nearly as much fun or readable. As an added bonus, she is my sounding board for new ideas and when choosing new fabrics for the product line.
“I’m liking” new relationships! I have been fortunate enough to have made quite a few new friendships thru BloomingDaisiesCrafts. These customers, turned friends, send me texts and emails to update me on how and what they are doing. I know these women support me and I try to do the same.
“I’m really liking” yummy recipes! People are sharing family recipes with me! Not only do I enjoy seeing peoples’ cross stitch work, I am interested in what they feed their families. New recipes inspire me to try new foods, different spices, and experiment with small appliances. For instance, this past week, I used my Instant Pot (small appliance) to cook up some sugar pumpkins (new food, as I have only used canned pumpkin before) for this Thanksgiving. Along with the encouragement to try this new technique, I also got tried and true recipes (made yearly for 45 years by my friend) for pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie. I loved learning that she uses ready-made pie crusts, too. Do not be shy about forwarding your favorite recipes!
“I’m liking” Social Media! Incredibly, I have learned more about Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest then I ever thought I would.
“I’m liking” Ebay. I found an additional selling venue for my wares. This website and its shoppers have been very friendly and have broadened BloomingDaisiesCrafts marketplace. I have “met” some awesome people on eBay in addition to my website (see above).
We are moving into the busy holiday season. And, as explained in last week’s blog, shoppers should expect USPS backups to delay shipped purchases by an additional two days (What I’m NOT Liking!).
