One week until Christmas! One week…

Shoppers, crafters, and artisans are all down to crunch time for Christmas! You have worked so hard to complete those personal Christmas gifts! 2020 was a year that challenged us all. Is (or are) your WIP for Christmas done and ready to be distributed? This year, I didn’t do any cross stitch projects for Christmas; let me reiterate that, Christmas, at all. And I didn’t really make any handmade gifts other than the grandkids ornaments. However, I have made quilts to gift in the past. Some were completed when the occasion arrived and others were, well, not.

This begs the question: How do you plan to give that perfect but incomplete gift—wrapped (as is) or perhaps a picture of the item as a promise? With the quilts, I have gifted them in the ways listed above when the projects weren’t quite finished. I might not recommend the first way as I have had to chase after the unfinished project. My sister has given incomplete quilts only to snatch them back after pictures and has been quite effective with that retrieval method.

Speaking of quilts, my finished product is on its way to Grand baby #6! Once it has been received, I can post pictures! While I am very sad that I will not be able to deliver it in person, I am extremely pleased with how cute it turned out. Her mama did a nice job picking out the pattern and colors for the quilt. It is perfect for the “little”.

And not to be forgotten, Brittany’s quilt! I am making myself add an extra push each day to work on the quilt. At this time, my goal is to have the top done by December 31, 2020 to take to the quilter. I have completed 7 of 30 rows. Not bad considering that I had to “frog” the ones that I had completed a while ago! Anyway, please, wish me luck and I’ll keep you posted.

Also, I am diligently working on the Tardis WIP. This week’s goal is to complete page 2! And, as I am so close, I have incentive to just keep stitching. For the following instructional page, I have been contemplating if it is cheating to skip to a page that doesn’t have much stitching to do. My reasoning is that it will get me one page closer to completion—no matter what order. My son’s birthday is January 14. I am thinking I will not make that date. Sigh. But my birthday is late February and that might be attainable. And, for those who know me, it will be a gift to check it off my list and get it out of my house!

In BloomingDaisiesCrafts news, I have a new fabric that I love (and hope you do too) --BALLOON ANIMALS! I sent three lining choices to Brittany and my sister and asked for opinions. Brit chose #2 and my sister chose #1. Brittany pulled her daughters in and they selected, get this, #3. As they both picked the same color, it is the winner-- Purple lining! Look for a complete Grime Guard, WIP Bags and Project Bags matching set with this fabric! I’m trying to get this up as soon as possible. Thankfully, my customers have kept me so busy but I will be working on it in between orders that need to go out ASAP but hopefully before Christmas.

Next week BloomingDaisiesCrafts will not post a blog due to the Christmas holiday. We do want to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Hopefully, it is special and you get whatever is on your list.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
