After just a few short weeks, I have my Blooming Daisies Crafts warehouse almost ready to go. I can work with the layout that I have now, but I feel that I will probably have to make a few tweaks before I call it complete and check that big box off of my list. It helped that I had worked through the layout of the space a few dozen times in my mind before we had even begun to pack up the house in Florida. While there are still a few minor things that are missing, (I figure that as we neared the end of packing things up, anything that would fit in a box went into any available box) those items will appear, eventually.
My husband and I enjoyed one of the rewards of moving back to Georgia this weekend. Our daughter and her family came to help us unpack boxes but we scrapped that plan and ended up just visiting. It was a lovely respite from the hectic few weeks we have endured. This Georgia visit was so different from the Florida visits where we would try to pack in all of the sights, eateries, and entertainment possible in a short time. Yes, it was a wonderful reward.
Another reward of the move would be to experience what may pass as 4 “mild” seasons-spring, summer, autumn, and winter--versus the tropical weather we enjoyed in Florida. I am truly embracing that by making a nesting corner in the living room for me to cross stitch and knit my WIPs. I am excited and have visions of curling up in my comfy chair with a Chai tea. A perfect lamp is positioned in the perfect spot already. I am toying with the idea of finding a storage cabinet to put in that corner to store my WIP. Usually, I have them sitting out on the couch or table, wrapped up in a Dust Cover, or protected in a Project Bag to match my décor, the season, or current WIP. Do you store yours inside something or just leave them out?
The original owner of this home had a green thumb and was meticulous with her documentation for the care and upkeep of the landscape. My favorite bush, by far, is the Butterfly Bush! It not only attracts butterflies but hummingbirds as well! I think that if I had no other bushes I would still be happy. When my son and his family came to help unload the trailer, a blue butterfly landed on the bush and was content to stay there even as we kept stepping in for a closer look. It was a short time later that I observed the first hummingbird. I hope the excitement of seeing them does not ever stop! Seeing the aquatic animals at the house in Florida never failed to amaze me!
Even though Blooming Daisies Crafts was on “vacation hold” during the move, it did not stop the orders from coming in! I am grateful that customers could not wait to order, but were willing to go with an “extended delivery date.” As I write this outline on Monday, September 16, I have 5 orders to mail out by Thursday. The rest will be shipped very soon after. Being up and running so quickly is exhilarating! With the lapse of nearly a month’s worth of orders, I should be able to start launching some new product until customers start ordering anew. Hopefully, in the near future, new Blooming Daisies Crafts merchandise will be posted here. Also, “older” product will be rotated in the selection. Upon reviewing the website, it was noticed that some fabrics were missing. It is doubtful that you will be able to distinguish the “old” from the “new” though—they are all so fresh looking.
We are already in the middle of September, which, technically, is fall. Maybe, just today, the weather is finally breaking in most of the country. This may put you in the fall mood and, as such, you should check out the autumn product line on the Blooming Daisies Crafts website. It features fall-inspired merchandise including sunflower print Grime Guards, Q-Snap Project bags, as well as Dust Covers. For those of you celebrating the return of Pumpkin Spice Latte season, Blooming Daisies Crafts has two Dust Covers for you to choose from: Coffee Product and Coffee Variety. Blooming Daisies Crafts also has some cute Needle Minders to take you into the next season. If you want to see the full "Fall" experience - just put Fall in the search part. Oh the choices to be made!
