Time to Get Back to Busyness

If you believe that the lack of a blog for this extended length of time is an indicator for how busy life has been lately, you would be correct! I wish I could say it is only me, but after talking with people, busyness is not a part of life, it is life. Due to the time constraints of only 24 hours in a day, I have not been able to devote as much time as I would like to Blooming Daisies Crafts. This really saddens me in so many ways. I miss the creative outlet of sewing new products and orders. I miss talking with my sister about the blogs—really using the blogs as an excuse to talk with her. I miss looking forward to the end of the month when I could crunch the numbers to see growth in my small business. It is just part of this season of life.

As I work for the best HVAC company in the Atlanta area, when the temperatures heat up so do the number of calls we receive. I like the work and love my boss (and BFF) so the day seems to fly by. Unfortunately, the office area is a small corner of my Blooming Daisies Crafts office/work space, so I am constantly pining away to be sewing on customer orders or new merchandise. Recently, I have decided to set my alarm early Monday-Friday so I get one hour before my day job so that I can work towards getting Blooming Daisies Crafts new product or customer orders completed. Doing so gives me something to look forward to when I wake up.

I still talk with my sister but our calls are more disjointed—not that either of us complains. We have learned to roll with it by starting the conversation with any true pressing matters and moving onto the lighter topics. The quick cutoff has been perfected, “Someone is calling! Love you. Bye!” If an important subject was missed, a text will be sent/received, “Call me back when you can!” If not, it is understood that we will talk sometime soon. Having someone, my sister in my case, that really reads content and has admitted that she enjoys diagraming sentences (yeah, I do not get that either), makes reading Blooming Daisies Crafts content easier. And, much more enjoyable, believe me.

As for the 2024 “numbers,” they are acceptable. I never expected to make it rich from Blooming Daisies Crafts but I do like to see progress. Blooming Daisies Crafts has expanded its merchandise with a wider range of Nursing Caps and the introduction of Ostomy/Urostomy bags. Because of the quality of the products offered, many customers are repeat buyers. Blooming Daisies Crafts is proud to work with its customers for special orders, and not only in these areas but website wide. Just press the “Let’s Chat!” button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. At Blooming Daisies Crafts, we help bring your ideas to life!

Personally, my husband and I have made some hard decisions. Earlier this year, we put our beautiful Florida home on the market. We are moving back to the Atlanta area when this house sells. Like so many housing markets across the country, sales have slowed down here. While we are ready to act on our decision to move immediately and we will bide our time until we sell for what we want. This whole process is trying to teach me patience or maybe trying my patience. Not working really well but I am dealing with it.

In the middle of all of this, my husband and I were able to sneak off and have a real vacation. We had booked a “bucket list” cruise over a year ago, the Panama West Bound cruise. It was a 14-day voyage with 8 days at sea and only four stops. We chose it just for the opportunity to pass through the Panama Canal-which did not disappoint. I would try to explain the experience, however you really needed to be there. It is not action-packed or star-studded, just a memorable day-long journey through the canal itself. The number of days as sea was high but the cruise line did a remarkable job to ensure that passengers had enough entertainment as to not be bored. And of course, the food was incredible. Most of all it was amazing to step away from the busyness of life for a short time.

My latest WIP, Just Be Claus, traveled with me on the cruise but did not see much daylight. I did get it out of it WIP Bag last night though. And is now on a break due to waiting for newest prescription glasses to arrive. I picked out the frames and made the order last week and the eye tech said 3 weeks. (I was able to pick them up last night! A full week early!). Update - I got my glasses and was notified that my new sunglasses were in - went to get them and my sunglasses had a scratch in them. They have to be remade! UGH.

Now for the shameless Blooming Daisies Crafts merchandise plug! Having just finished up my vacation but with so many of you about to begin yours, Blooming Daisies Crafts will be featuring summer product to go with you while you vacation, be it camping in the mountains, lying on the beach, or sitting on your back porch.
